Tuscany: Lucca & Pisa

Bike Tour: Tuscany: Lucca & Pisa - 4 days

Leonardo da Vinci might have said it himself “cycle to my home town and check out all my discoveries”. This flexible tour does just that, as you choose your challenge each day. Pedal through the quintessential Tuscan landscape of vineyards and olive groves to Pisa, with its world- renowned Leaning Tower, then to the charming town of Lucca, where you will ride up on the impressive walls of the city.

Day 1: Arrive in Lucca
Day 2: Lucca round trip with flat and hilly route
Day 3: Ride from Lucca to Pisa
Day 4: Arrivederci Lucca!

Day 1:    Arrive in Lucca

Arrive at your hotel in Lucca and take a peaceful and relaxing stroll through the narrow streets of this charming city. Sit down for a glass of local Chianti wine and savor the amazing olive oil produced in the region's vineyards. Before calling it a night, promenade past the chapels and pastel houses.

Day 2:    Lucca round trip with flat and hilly route
33 km

Choose between two trips of varying difficulty on today’s visit of characteristic Renaissance villas in the outskirts of Lucca. Both trips are similar in length, but the easy route is almost entirely flat whereas the hilly route has more height variation and offers enviable aerial views. Experience tours of assorted prestigious villas and stroll their extraordinarily luxurious gardens.

33/39 km, 170/450m ascent, 170/450m descent

Day 3:    Ride from Lucca to Pisa
32 km

Today’s ride is very scenic and nearly all flat. The route follows the Serchio River and after 25 kilometres, you reach the charming town of Pisa. You have ample time to visit the town and explore its splendid gardens, and the most famous leaning tower. After the ride take the train back to Lucca.

24/32.5 km, 80/100m ascent, 80/100m descent

Day 4:    Arrivederci Lucca!

The trip and our services end after breakfast, unless you have booked a transfer to the airport or other supplementary services.
