Introduction

Embark on an unforgettable cycling adventure through the picturesque Piedmont region of Italy (just few hours away from Milan and Turin) where each pedal stroke reveals stunning landscapes, rich history, and delectable culinary delights. The journey takes you through quaint villages and rural landscapes, where centuries-old traditions are still preserved. From the Marvel at the medieval architecture of Ricetto di Candelo, a fortified village dating back to the Middle Ages to the industrial town of Ivrea, where the most iconic typewriter (Olivetti) was invented. The ride offers extremely panoramic views of the Ivrea moraine amphitheatre, Serra Morenica.

Day to Day

Day 1   Arrive in Ivrea
 

Your journey begins in the charming town of Ivrea, nestled in the foothills of the Alps. Explore the quaint streets adorned with medieval architecture and visit the iconic Ivrea Castle. After checking into your cozy accommodations, indulge in a taste of local cuisine at one of the traditional trattorias.


 

  
Day 2   Loop ride via Viverone lake
 

Start your holiday in Ivrea, where cobbled streets and medieval architecture set the scene for your exploration. As you pedal away from the town center, you'll soon find yourself surrounded by rolling hills adorned with vineyards and orchards, creating a picturesque backdrop for your ride.  As you approach Lake Viverone, the scenery transforms into a tranquil oasis of crystal-clear waters and lush greenery. Take a moment to pause and admire the beauty of the lake, with its shimmering surface reflecting the colors of the sky above. After soaking in the serene ambiance of Lake Viverone, it's time to hop back on your bike and begin the return journey to Ivrea.

Day 3   Ride from Ivrea to Sandigliano
 

From Ivrea start climbing up to Chiaverano village and from there down along the Serra into the woods, to Vermogno and across the Bessa Park. Then up to Sandigliano on country roads. Along the way you will ride by Lake Sirio with splendid views of the Ivrea moraine amphitheatre, Serra Morenica and Cossavella pond. Miniere d'oro della Bessa, The mine area, the archaeological evidence of which dates back to the 2nd - 1st century B.C., with traces of earlier frequentation represented largely by erratic boulders with rock carvings, consists of two terraces of fluvioglacial origin, covered, in the upper terrace by piles of pebbles and in the lower terrace by sands and gravels, remnants of washing for metal mining.

Day 4   Loop ride via Biella & Candelo
 

Today’s route takes you through quaint villages and rural landscapes, where centuries-old traditions are still preserved. Marvel at the medieval architecture of Ricetto di Candelo, a fortified village dating back to the Middle Ages. Explore its narrow streets and ancient stone buildings, imagining life in centuries past. Continuing on your journey, you'll venture into Bessa Park, a serene oasis of lush greenery and tranquil ponds. Take a moment to pause and immerse yourself in the natural beauty that surrounds you, listening to the gentle rustle of leaves and the chirping of birds. Feel the thrill of adventure as you navigate through dense forests and open meadows, taking in panoramic views of the stunning landscape.

Day 5   Arrivederci Biellese!
